2008 Youth of the Year
Emalee
Furtek
Emalee Furtek is a true
example of an extraordinary young woman. At age 16, she has
just been selected as the Youth of the Year for the Randall
Boys and Girls Club. Emalee is among hundreds of local Youth
of the Year winners across the country recognized by Boys &
Girls Clubs of America for her sound character, leadership
skills and willingness to give back to the community.
Emalee is a junior at Ludlow High School.
She participates in many activities such as the school’s swim
team, tutoring to peers, and being a manager to the track and
field and football team. She has been participating in Club
activities since she was eight years old. She participated in
after-school, school vacations and summer camp. Now that
Emalee is older, she is employed by the Club as a lifeguard.
Emalee has provided services to the community through life
guarding for the two triathlons the Club runs throughout the
year. In addition, Emalee helps with swim clinics and lessons
held at the Club year round.
The Randall Boys and Girls Club would like
to congratulate Emalee and thank her for her continuous
commitment and service to the Club and the community. |
